Wind Modeling

We posses broad experience from a large number of wind modeling assignments we have carried out for wind power projects as well as in the scope of research projects. We therefore know which type of wind model to employ for every kind of wind power application.

WindSim

WindSim is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model which was specifically developed for wind power in complex terrain. Tests have shown that WindSim performs exceedingly well compared to other CFD as well as linear models. We have a long-standing experience as a competent WindSim user and a close contact to the developpers of the software, not only at the annual User-Meetings in Norway.

WindPRO/WAsP

WindPRO is a wind power planning tool. Wind modeling in WindPRO is based on the WAsP module. This model is suitable for flat and moderately hilly terrain.

Basic data

Besides wind measurements, long term wind statistics, digital elevation models and roughness maps are required as input data. We can provide this data world wide.

Regional wind maps

We compute and produce regional wind maps based on statistical and physical models.

Power Supply

New: For remote sites without power supply, we now offer LIDAR and SODAR measurements with our autonomous power system.
